Hi, my name is John and I love coffee. As I write this I’m sitting in a local roastery sipping a “mudslide” espresso with cream and two and a half sugars. There are few things in life that I feel merit precise orchestration with no room for error, coffee is one of them.
My life belongs to Jesus. I am His son and He is my King. His work in my life is reason enough for my faith to be made complete. He lived to die for me so that I may be credited righteous thus I will live for Him.
I believe that Christians must engage in culture and politics. We should be active in representing our faith in these communities, but not in a relativistic or compromising way. Truth is truth and if culture doesn't like it, despite a loving delivery from the Church, then Jesus’ words are coming to fruition when He said the world would hate us because of our advocacy for Him.
I affirm scriptural inerrancy, infallibility, and the Bible as God’s final authority in text.
My travels include Japan, Ecuador, Peru, Spain, Benin, Ghana, Liberia, Mexico, Canada and every state in America.
Writing is my means of expression. It’s my heart on paper. My happiest and saddest of memories have been written out therapeutically. I am content finding a coffee shop or book store and writing or reading for hours. My favorite authors include C.S. Lewis, A.W. Tozer, and Matt Walsh.
I'm a pro-Jesus, pro-gun, pro-life, pro-adoption, pro-military, pro-small business guy. I served in the Marines. I did my undergraduate studies in political science at Biola University before pursuing seminary at Liberty University. I understand the separation of Church and State but I refuse to hold a political inclination that conflicts with my spiritual convictions. Jesus first, then politics (but always coffee.) We're called to pursue justice for the oppressed and politics is a fantastic conduit to utilize here.
My family rocks. I have an older sis, bro-in-law, two loving 'rents, and an ADORABLE niece, Daisy Mae, who was born three months early and left the NICU a couple weeks early...yea, she's a beast.
I hope my readers are inspired by my blog. Let's chat!
